Since my last Blog I've done very little so quiet proud of myself. Oh I did turn Forty and got into more debt.

I went to see Amanda Palmer in Brighton with some lovely people and had a complete Blast. I've visited the north on my own, driving!!!!! went to Whitby and York oh and Oswaldtwistle (home of the spinning Jenny and beer).

hello all,

Well I was reading the paper on saturday and I got this blog all about the future we never had called paleo-future.blogspot it's fab you should see the classroom of the future. style over content rules the day.

So what's new? well at the weekend we have our NLP exam where we have to do a demo and a written exam which we've already got so it feels more like course work. I've joined the facebook which is a sort of msn talkie type thing and my blog can appear on it which is groovey.

My only new news is that I've had my nose pierced and no one noticed! it seems everyone thought I'd had it done already! It really hurt but it's ok now.

Ok so here we are with my bright red hair!!!!! Have too admit it's a completely different colour today. I feel like I've faded like an autumn leaf. I'm at the moment a bright orange but I'll be back to red on monday!

I suppose I should act my age but I'm not completely sure how!

OK this must be an all time record the last blog note was in January. I've had this niggle to get round to putting something on but have been far to dull to think of anything to write. In fact the whole things changed since I was last on..... speaking of change I've died my hair red!!! well actually it's gone a weird orange now but will be back to bright red soon..... I was trying to upload a picture but it wouldn't let me I'll try again later.

So apologises for disappearing hopefully I'll not do that again for a while.

This is a quickie........I watched the Borat film the other evening and I was very suprised. I actually kept looking at the screen instead of hiding behind the sofa. Makes some very unsubtle observations about predudice in America. My favourite part is the Rodeo in Texas has to be seen to be believed.

Old and new

Hello friends and passers by…..

Firstly allow me to apologise for the long absence of ramblings, no excuse just haven’t got around to it.

HAPPY NEW YEAR by the way.

Have to say I’m glad it’s all done I worked through most of it and didn’t feel enthused about the whole thing really. It’s weird because some years you can get totally engrossed in the whole thing and some years it can just pass you by. I have still got my nieces pressies sat by the fire awaiting their lazy aunt to post them and haven’t sent a Christmas card even to my long suffering parents who were completely lovely about it and said they were just happy with the phone call. I don’t deserve them.

However, on Christmas day I cooked a goose! It was enormous and the fat that kept coming off it was frankly astounding. So dinner went rather well except I smothered my dinner in fat (thinly disguised as gravy). Which sort of spoiled it.

So new year what will it bring….. well we are definitely moving in March may only be to the next road but this time we will get removals in as I think we have stretched friendships too far already over the years and many moves. So you can all breath a sigh of relief.

Hopefully, I’ll finish my NLP Practitioners qual. (look into my eyes not around the eyes directly in the eyes…) I managed to complete my NVQ4 in Advice and Guidance (makes me a qualified busy body!) I did vow that I wouldn’t do any more study after that as my brain is full and frankly, tired! So no more study.

I may give up smoking again, eat less chocolate and stop sleeping in when I should be at work (managed to do it twice this year this may seem an insignificant thing to add but I was actually at work at the time and the staff couldn’t rouse me!) Both times I woke at 9.30am when I should have been up and at it at 8am. Thank goodness for a staff team with a sense of humour.

Ok enough now… love you all thanks for popping round and lets see more of each other this year.

Hi all sorry it's been soooo long lots happenning some good some bad. Normal mad christmas rush lots of work and mad panic trying to get my NVQ finished for a december deadline! which I just about managed with no small amount of stress and very understanding flatmate who kept me going with cups of tea. Thanks Chris you're a star.

The bad is my lovely cousin Kate (or Cake as I use to think she was called when I was small) died from Bowel Cancer after a long struggle. It came as a shock as I didn't know it had reappeared again so the family are well you know, devastated. So for those of you that pray please can you throw one up for the whole family as they are struggling with this. Kate leaves a husband and 2 small children. Also, my lovely aunt has had a stroke and again would appreciate thoughts and prayers as she's in her 80's.

Sorry this isn't full of Christmas cheer but I know there's lots of folk out there who have found christmas to be such a difficult time of year and they may want to leave a message too.

I have some exciting news There is another little person arrived by the name of Joel William Kingsley (Max). Loz and Vern have a new shiney baby He's a whopping 8lb 13.5oz, 4kg for us europeans. So now they have a new playmate for Katy and Cameron. Congrats to the whole family don't they all look gorgeous. it's such a good looking post birth picture but they are a pretty good looking bunch. Well done Loz proud of you mate.

Currying flavour

Hello all,

Well I've been a bit under the weather (what does that mean and where did it come from?) I was given some anti inflamitories* (it's to stop people telling great whopping lies) which have had an er... unsettling effect on me. So I had to take some time off work as I couldn't see straight..... one young person asked me if I'd been drinking (only tea and gaviscon).
* cannot figure out how to spell that even my mobile phone was no help!

Weirdly, I decided to cook as there isn't much else to do and I made my first ever curry from scratch I used stuff like Ghee butter and coconut milk very exciting. Think it was a success so I'm going to work through my curry cook book and hopefully make some nice dinners. Although, Chris is my lab rat and I hope he's not just being nice when he say's he likes it as it only encourages me and he may rue the day!

Bye my friend

Ok here's a bit of a sad one.......

The lovely, clever, witty Rachel has left us to heal the sick in Torquay (lots of bowling injuries) We've only known Rach a short while (about 8 mnths) and in that time she's become a great friend. We sadly waved goodbye to her on wednesday evening and if I'd have realised it was the last night of slobbing around eating pizza and watching science fiction I'd have thrown a big farewell. But I was in a stuppor as I'd over worked recently and hadn't properly taken it all in. However it was probably an appropriate evening.

There are some things I'd like to put out there in cyberland. Rachel is a person that when you meet her she makes you feel important and worth listening to. She's VERY bright and can think of witty comments for all situations which is no easy thing to do. She's a glamorous, funny, sexy, kind, loyal and loves her friends too bits. She is someone I'm so glad I've met and so sad she's gone. Bournemouth is a little less fun without her.

So Rachel just to let you know we are going to miss you and have loved spending time with you there's always a spare bed for you here.

You're our Amazonian Goddess.

The Return

Before I get into this can I say a big thank you to island monkey who recomended that I see this film. Ta.

I bought it on amazon and I'm sorry to say it got slightly damaged en route. But I managed to get around that. This is a beautiful film and you've all just got to watch it. In a nut shell, two brothers are raised by mum and gran in a small Russian town and suddenly dad appears after a 12 year absense. The boys react differently to this appearence and oh you know what I don't want to ruin it. Just to say the acting is sublime by all the cast and the directing and camera work is well fabulous. It's a lovely subtle journey of relationships which is filled with mystery. That's what I love about foreign films is they don't explain everything it's more abut the experience and journey than understanding all sides.

Anyhoo, give it a go and report back...

Chris turns 40.

Hello all,

Just wanted to mark the occasion. My lovely flatmate Chris is 40 years old on sunday and one of the many joys of having him as a flatmate is that I get access to his computer and all his downloaded photos. Here are but a few.

Chris and I have known each other since '01 and in that time he has been a constant friend. He's got a lot to put up with! Chris is such a star he loves his friends to pieces and will do anything for them (go on ask him) He's caring, never holds a grundge always sees the best in people and loves playing on the XBOX. I have to say he's also my boss and he is one of the good ones (we know there are so few of those) He's passionate about Yoga, XBOX, Art, Music and, oh yes, his friends. He is basically a good egg and is a brill flatmate.

We're off to London on saturday and probably going to the Portraite gallery I really want to go to the Tate Modern and play on the slide (I hear you go 30 mph on it) and then on his big day a quite day of coffee, cake and papers then a moroccan evening (casseroles).

Unsure how he feels about the big 4 0 but I just want to say you're the most young at heart chap I know so........

Hello all,

I've just spent a lovely hour re reading all my entries on here. I did it as I realised that it's nearly a year since I started such a lot has happened this year and didn't realise till I looked back...... babies have been born, birthdays attended, Visits from friends from far away places, day's out in London, Portland and deepest dorset, engagements (and break ups), announcement of a new family member to arrive, New hair dos, lots of new shoes, spray on tans, visits from friends pets and most importantly a huge amount of trivia including silly films and sillier pictures. Intersting to read back especially when you think that this is life... filled with small events that may mean very little to the outsider looking in but sort of sum up day to day living. It was a happy hour.

Yesterday I went to Brownsea Island with the 2 Chris's and Amanda such a lovely little place we ate well and walked all around it. Came back on a very rocky boat and was completely knackered. Chris and I then ate an indian (not a real one) which topped the day off.

Chris, as some of you already know, turns forty soon and to celebrate we got the Xbox 360 and I've had to watch him slaughter zombies even since. We did get the Lego Star Wars as well which is too cute for words and more my thing.

Well press Ring and see the new addition to the bunnies films. It's fab they have managed to make the scariest film ever funny.

Last week I took a week off work and had a fab time pottering around the flat trying to sort it all out as we may have to move after christmas which means figuring out how much junk we've collected over the years. Lots and Lots.

I've had another hair cut and decided to ditch the bob. It's one of those do's that works when you've had it done but is way to complicated to figure out when at home.

Crocs and spiders.

Hello all,
Hope you had a lovely Bank Holiday. We went on a walk across most of Dorset! Which was lots of fun if not completely knackering. Lots of time spent eating blackberries. The picture is for the townies amoungst you to clarify that we weren't out buying computers. Also, elderberries which brought back memories of picking for dads wine. We saw calves (you know what they look like) and most impressively a Waspspider see above. Pretty impressive creature nearly trod on her but she kicked my foot out of the way! We found a fab little pub and had cheese and onion sandwitches (why do they use red onion on food that's crying out for strong white onion?). We were talking about crocs a craze thats come from Canada imagine a cut off welly!!! Anyway, I've ordered a rather snazzy pair of red ones (see pic) I'll let you all know if they really are as comfy as advertised.

I'm not waring a bun!!!

Ok before I let you all in on the big news I just wish to point out I'm only 38 years old... Please don't lose sight of that. I had a call informing me I was going to be a Great Aunt!!!!! Now as much as I'm really please for my baby niece (21 years yes I know good child bearing age and all that) but she's still the comical little girl who tried, at 2 years of age, to push a poof (small seat not a camp chap who likes caberiet and Judy Garland) with a ham sandwich in her mouth that openned up and the ham flapped about like a big tongue. Very funny moment.

So as I moved not long after the ham butty moment she will for ever 2 years old and cheeky. Although, the cheeky thing is still there. Still as happy as I am Susan, you should have thought of your Aunt Laura who's trying her best to be 20 again and your not ruddy helping by turning me into some aged Great Aunt.

Oh by the way Congratulations Susan ..... and Charlotte not YET.

Hello all it's review time.

I won Deadwood on ebay. Let's just say Doris Day may have thought twice about taking a visit.

The language will make your hair curl and we wondered if we could watch it and not be put off by the constant swearing. However, the inventive use of some of the naughty words made us laugh out loud. I, as a matter of standard, HATE westerns. However, I'm completely addicted to Deadwood. Ian Mcshane is Amazing, totally believable. In fact, all the characters are. basically we're watching an Outlaw town grow from tents with all the fun and merryment that ensues. So it's one I'm recommending once you get past the swearing it's almost Shakesperian.

I've just won series 2 on Ebay and am hoping it'll hurry up and arrive.

So if you get chance then get hold of this brill series

Goodbye Alice

Hello all,

Last week I had the joy of looking after a lovely Cairn Terrior called Alice. Her new folks (Mark and Sarah) were away and Chris and I had to be responsible for this little girl. Unlike the terrior I use to own (McKewwan a westi) Alice has a sweet nature she hardly barks and loves everyone. When I say everyone I discovered she's not keen on pigeons and foxes . I poped her out for a late breath of air and was about to let her off the lead when we came head to head with a fox. Astonishingly Alice squared up to foxie and I made the decision that a 10 year old may not come off to well in the dark with a fox. so I had to prise her away.

Anyway when Mark and Sar came to pick Alice up I was on a night shift so couldn't say goodbye and found that I was missing her whilst on shift. She is such lovely company but she did miss her new family and from what I'm told gave them a huge welcome back. the poor old girl has been through a rough time and think she might have thought we'd nicked her.

I'd have added a photo but can't find the lead for my phone to the computer. I'm always thwarted by technology!!!

Who's bone is it anyway?

I bought some really nice cutlery on ebay. I have this desire to get all the stuff my grandma had in her little mill workers cottage. So far I've got some cups and saucers and now I'm collecting bone handled cutlery. I'm sure every gran in the uk had some. Good old Sheffield made the best stuff. Not sure if it's still made? May be ethical issues about it? Although as a meat eater it would be an odd thing to have a hang up on. I suppose it depends what animal the bone comes from. I will have an issue if it's an elephant or a gorilla but, unsure what the elephant and gorilla population is in sheffield.

Suspect it's moo cows.

Ok that's it, although I am curious to know what the bone is now. So please let me know if you've any idea.

so all that money and fuss about a spray on tan and I go and burn!! I'm rather attractively peeling from my cleavage which can look very odd as I fish around for loose skin. Think I've totally grossed out Chris.... I may look like the saggy skinned lady in days to come. So I'm going to stay covered from head to toe and sit in a darkenned corner. It's very frustrating being so pale I, like many of my friends, will fight to the death for shade because instead of a lovely all over glowing tan I go red, blister and peel. That's not to mention Sunstroke which on an average summer I'll get once a week. Heigh Hoo.

spray away..

So at the grand old age of 38 I have decided to keep very clear of sun rays and wear only factor 50. This, however, has hightlighted that my skin is almost see through and I'm looking ill. So I booked a session at a spray tanning place. Very weird as I stood (almost) naked in front of a complete stranger as she hosed me down. The strangest part was the conversation.... " just pop your arm up.. thats it so what do you do for a living?", " I work with young people cough.." "Sorry wasn't aiming for your mouth, now turn round with arms in the air and legs apart, do you enjoy our job? "yes", "No your supposed to keep your eyes closed, can you pop you left leg over your right shoulder and sing the national anthem? No? ok, thats it, lets carry on chatting whilst your drying off and (almost) naked like we've been introduced at a dinner party." "Super, do you like doing this I mean it's a strange way to earn a living hosing down (almost) naked people?" looks at me like no one has ever said this too her before.... "Ok, Put your clothes on that'll be a months wages and you'll need another session in a couple of weeks.... here's our high rate lone if you need it."

Have to say it was an interesting experience and it means I can go through the summer looking a little less albino whilst wearing my factor 50.

Problem being I start work at 3pm and all the young people get to watch me changing colour...

London and the Blue Peter Pets

Ello darlin.....

Aren't they fab we went to the Natural History Museam on Wednesday I was very excited as I hadn't been before. Totally get why people (boys) are so mad about dinosaurs now fantastic. The bonus (you'll like this Adele) is that Blue Peter were there with their fabulous pets. The cat was the most laid back creature and totally beautiful and yes she new it! She did seem just a tad bored with the whole day. Bit like the cat from Babe.

Then there was the two gorgeous dogs again looking really bored wanted to take them off for a run .

We also popped to the Victoria and Albert then then abligatory stops at Covent Garden, Leiseter Square and Picadilly Circus. Totally wrecked my feet as I always do in London and I had to wear trainers for work on thursday!!!

Well the other night we wondered off to see the truely lovely Dylan Moran which Rach had fabulously booked. If you're unsure of who Dylan Moran is remember Black Books? It's the drunk book shop owner. He was fantastic the evening went way too quickly my face ached with laughing a real tonic. I got to sit next to the very funny Tim Peach so my evening was complete. Well the sun is shining and I'm at work *insert sad face* lots of teenagers coming in to watch videos in darkened rooms.... perish the thought that they might go to the beach!!!

Eurovision baby yeah....

Well the best band won FINLAND but I have to see most of the woman in the room were gunning for Lithuania who were a bunch of forty odd year old blokes who looked like they'd met at the pub and put the "We are the Winners" (of eurovision) together in five minutes and then entered. England and Ireland gave them lots of points I think because it was so nice to see another band with a sense of humour (and a twinkle) .

There was also Latvia who had some strange puppet thing and mad dancing which we loved as it was bonkers. So a great night was had except for some odd comment from a friend of a friend about Turkish people which made us all uncomfortable and offended the whole room (I hope!) Heigh Hoo finding it harder as I get older to tollerate small mindedness want to react in a unmiddleclass manner which includes foul language and references to lack of parents.

I'm still in the land of the living just a bit bogged under at the moment. So sorry for the lack of blogness. Not a great deal to report other than working, sleeping, talking and eating! But it's Eurovision this Saturaday which means listenning to good old Terry getting more and more er under the influence as the evening progresses God Bless him, love that man.

Bank Holiday Chihuahuas

What is it about rock pools? I still get madly excited when we get near one lots of memories of family holidays in Scotland crab hunting. Well on Bank Holiday Monday we trundled off exploring Dorset can't remember everywhere we went but we ended up in Portland Bill. We are by the lighthouse in this picture and have discovered that all our phones have changed to a french network which makes us all feel in the holiday mood.

We are inspecting a rock pool that in a few moments time Chris (who took this picture) will spectacularly slide into trying to drag me with him. Once discovered he was ok was allowed to laugh so hard no noise came out. Why is that SO funny? I really ached after and it topped off an amazing day.

Earlier we looked at the view from the top of Portland and met a lady with a small Chihuahua it was basically a small ball of fluff wearing a diamond knecklace very Paris Hilton. It made Fee very keen to get one, more as a toy for the cat to play with, than as a pet in itself. I have to admite this tiny furry creature was extremely cute and very affectionate made me forget for a moment all about Ren (Ren and Stimpy) but have no doubt he will grow and have eyes on storks and will be forever under foot and yapping all hours of the day and night. However it could leave by the cat flap and take itself for a walk round the garden. so low maintence., doe this dog look low maintance?

ok it's sad but I obviously have nothing better to do than surf the net and keep popping back to the bunnies. This time it's ROCKY very amusing hope it makes you all smile. I was poorly today and the boss had to give me a lift home which was fine. The problem was I was in a Emergency First aid course and started to feel rather weird my vision went strange and I was really tired. I started to go hot and cold and had to excuse myself and had a few minutes lay down which wasn't too bad. I then went back in and it all got very graffic (usually I don't get queasy but I was feeling ill to start with) and I new I couldn't stay so had to leave. Now all my work collegues think I'm a woose (which I am) . Heigh Hoo

Clive did it he ran the London Marathon and in 3 hours 41 minutes! Super fast Clive! He beat Gordon Ramsey and on a poorly leg! He raised tons of money for CF .

Jet Setting Birthdays

Well what a Bank Holiday!!! I got to see my lovely chum Adele who popped back for a few days from sunny New Zealand. I had to excercise my lying skills as Dells mum was throwing a surprise birthday party. So the pretence of a lovely Chinese in Bournemouth turned into a Beans and Sausage hot pot and lots of pregnant ladies all feeling a bit worse for wear. Sorry for lying Delly it was for a greater good....

For those who don't know Adele legged it to New Zealand to bring literature and and strong dose of Humour to the land of hills and Hobbits. She's a stonking lady who is sorely missed here in Blighty. She's a ray of sunshine who makes people feel good about themselves (that's why I have an inflated view of myself) I'm grateful to have her as a chum and miss her tons.

Phones, cars and younger days

Ok all hands on deck Chris has had a horrid day and it's costing him a fortune lots of positive thoughts and mind hugs to him. He had his wing mirror clobbered and is at Ford as I type waiting on a replacement, But worse still he dropped his phone and smashed it too bits I realise this isn't a big deal really but the brand new phone he bought hasn't kept his phone numbers which means he can't get in touch with people so can you all either call him or text him your full name it's the same number ta .

He just rang and was waiting for the third rubbish thing to happen. At which point I rather stupidly pointed out he still had his other fone that just needed unlocking . Hopefully he won't want to murder me after he reads all your texts and gets your calls.

whilst chatting about Chis..... Last night he scanned lots of piccies onto the puter and we found one of us looking thin and young. I have no idea where we are or even when this was but it made us smile.

Hello there,

The other evening something rather bazaar happened. I must have been thinking and organizing before I went to bed because I was dreaming at about 3am not a nice dream but a ghostie dream. Any way this ghost rushed me and tried to gag me (yes many others have tried and failed the undead have no chance) So I tried to get attention of my parents in another room (in my dream not in real life they live 350 miles away) I did this by trying to scream through the ghoulies transparent hand. Initially nothing then I broke through and screamed so loud I woke up screaming!!!!!!

I was a little freaked out and started to worry if I'd woken one of my poor elderly neighbors up but, my windows were closed so hopefully not.

I went to work Saturday morning and rang Chris up and the conversation went along the lines of: "Did you hear me screaming last night?" He said, "yes I know April Fool!!!", "No really I was having a nightmare honest!" not sure he believes me now.

Ok need to get some work done.

I know, I know, I'm Sorry

It's been a bit mad lately. Yes Del, I went on "Train the Trainer Training", No I did honest! With a chap called BOB and Chris and I rather predictably simultanously repeated BOB in the usual Black Adder stylee. Which quietly amused us if no one else!! Weirdly, enjoyed the training (anyone who knows me knows what a shocking attention span I have so meetings, training etc. have to be really lively or I'm away with the fairies ). BOB was a bit keen and had the weirdest laugh that you either stared at in horror or you looked away like you would if there was a car crash ensuing. Sorry BOB but you laugh weird!

I am now officially allowed to spread the news Chris has got a blog. All guests are welcome as long as you wipe you feet as he's on a bit of a cleaning spree! so press on Chris and he'll let you in (think of it as a door bell).

He bought some rather smashing shoes which I deeply approved of, I'll let him tell you as he usually doesn't get a word in once I start!

Just back from Winchester and I'm proud to report I bought nothing. I may never shop again as we may be moving really soon. Just a quick warning let you know when I know more.

Irish day thingie

I realise this is a day late but it's soooo worth it. As a small part of me is Irish (the bit behind my left ear lobe) I have to show a silly picture of a badly dressed dog. Did you know that St Patrick was english? No! Yes!

Ok so last night I went to see V for Vendetta. I was rather looking forward to it until one of my flatmates informed me it was supposed to be rubbish. Jonathon Ross said so!!! Well as much as I love and admire old Jon boy I have to say YOU ARE WRONG. It was fab in fact, it was so good I tried to not go to the loo through it. but, age will only allow so much holding back and I missed a few minutes I can highly recomend it (although not everyone felt as I did).

Rag bone......

I know this is turning into a weird boot blog but had to tell you I managed to sell my animal print DM's. This is very exciting for me as it's my first sale. I bought the little fellas at a second hand shop for the princely fee of £3.00. I just sold them for £16.50. Which makes you ask the question why do folk get sniffy about buying shoes in second hand shops but, will barter to within an inch of their lives on ebay???? I neither know nor care I made £13.50 on a pair of old boots. I've found it's actually slightly more exciting selling than buying.

The other day whilst having a quick dust I found a DVD HitchHikers guide to the galaxy series I'd bought Chris for his birthday. However, I knew that this was in another cupboard. I got them both took a picture and texted it to Chris asking him if he had already got the series before I'd bought it. He's a nice bloke and wouldn't say.

I got a really panicy text back saying DON'T SELL IT ON EBAY. It was in fact my other flatmates. This kind of shows the fear my poor flatmate is under. It actually hadn't occured to me. Although....

Trouble At Mill....

Well, I've been happily playing online and just noticed I've not updated my blog.

Very tardy of me.

I've been viewing isandmonkey and he's got some really interesting art on there so have a look. He took me down memory lane with pictures of old factories this reminded me of playing in the cotton mills as a child (no mum never knew... ) they were fabulous and dangerous one near our house had all the old Spinning Jennys still in there we had to cross Tinker Brook to break in. This wasn't that easy as the banks were steep and we had to climb around a barbed wire fence. lot's of near misses, but we were determined. We must have been spotted as one day when we managed to sneak down and the entrance had been bricked up. This looking back was probably a good thing.

we were gutted!

Another mill we use to try and explore has been turned into The Bubble Factory which has made a fab job of a decaying old mill with shopping gallore. It just took someone with a love af architecture, history and a nose for making money. This brought new jobs into the community and another fun place to shop that wasn't another souless Mall.

Oh yes, the shoes are fabulous I can't drive in them but, I want to wear them all the time so spare pair in the car for driving. I feel like a proper old dear now as I have driving gloves and shoes. It takes ruddy ages going anywhere with me. I may start getting the bus again it's quicker.

I've been off work this week with a lurgy nothing desperate but enough to make me feel sorry for myself. I got quiet bored and started dreaming about work. I'm back on saturday and weirdly I'm looking forward to it!!!!!

Hello all,

Well I've just finish my week of holidays and even though I didn't go anywhere hot I had a good time. The car passing it's MOT gave me confidence to attempt motorway travel so I puttled off to Southampton and it was so much fun that on thursday I drove out to Somerset to see friends I haven't clapped eyes on in 5 years. This was very last minute so I only saw a couple of folk but plan to go back and meet those I still haven't seen. I stopped off in Lyme Regis which is being completely dug up and rebuilt as it's collapsing. Still a fab place I was there for a few hours nearly bought a fab old tea set for £50 but common sense prevailed (for a change) it was a choice of the tea set or petrol home.

So I'm about to go to work and sleepover bit daunting going back as I have no idea whats been happening.

Birthdays, Bunnies and Munich

Hello all,

Well yesterday was my birthday and a nice day it was too. I did very little watched futurama, shopped, drank coffee and then in the evening went to see Munich with chris and Tim. Not exactly a side splittingly funny film to have on ones birthday but was interesting. It gave us lots to debate on the way back to the flat. Mostly about how biased it was. Although that was a given really. Thats the trouble with films about actual events they can make viewing difficult because you want to sit back and enjoy the ride but, you tend to sit forward and frown deeply at the obvious propoganda. It was a good film and I wished it wasn't "based on actual events" because lets face it most of it wasn't.

I was roaming the bloggs and islandmonkey had an article on the Giant German Bunny I'm adding this as it lead to so many conversations and not everyone saw the picture so click onto link and be amazed.

Met the lovely Loz today and had coffee and a bite. I don't see enough of her and she's so funny and fab we've promise at least once a month coffee. Why do we allow the hecticness of life to get in the way of being with the folk we care about?

Journeys

Well I played out all day yesterday I ended up in sunny Lyndhurst I parked, nipped to the loo then carried on driving. I nearly ended up in Southampton but bottled. Had a lovely day just driving and getting the car to go faster than 40 (it doesn't like it) I have to turn my music really loud to drown out the sound of the engine which is ok until I pulled up at Purewell to look at the view and got glared at as had Anthony and the Johnsons warbling at top volume. Felt like a women going through that funny time of life where she doesn't care what people think any more. Next step complain loudly in shops preferably with a mortified teenager. (sorry just reliving my adolesence). So I had a fabulous day and only stalled twice and no one gave me the evil eye or rude gestures.

I'm off soon to the pictures with Chris so no driving today as it's 2 minutes away think we are going to see Munich which has been likened to that film with Matt Damen where he's a hit man with memory loss (name escapes) anyway, same pace and a true (ish) story. Then tonight having a birthday drink with chums everyones birthday is this month! but, back too work tomorrow not keen on working the weekend! Wheres my tag Delly?

Motorways

No that's not fair I'm NOT just filling my blog with cute pictures because I have nothing to write. I've got a couple of days off and I'm not sure what to do with them. I may venture off onto the motorway I'm in a bit of a quandry I'm nervous of driving on the motorway alone but my driving seems to deteriate when I have a passenger. I'll just have to give it a go although I'm not sure where to go. Any suggestions? Why is it that we look forward (desperately) to our days off then end up lost for ideas of what to do with them?

I've been getting my stuff through from ebay all rather exciting bit like getting pressies have to say the packages become "more stuff" very quickly which transfers to crap even quicker. I'm going to make an attempt to sell on ebay soon bit scared I'll probably end up losing money.

Well a million apologies for not writing in here. It's been so long I forgot how to get in!!!! So excuses ermmmmm well, Big Brother obviously, work which has just gone madly busy with me taking on board lots of new stuff. A tour of 6 police officers where I told them how to treat young people and stuff like that. I went into full scale talk attack for at least 20 minutes they all looked really tramatised by the end and almost ran out of the building. Not before they all had to thank me for having them by their Inspector, ah god bless em.

I've rediscovered ebay! I've bought the colour,white, blue and red French films had a fight on my hands but I GOT THEM IN THE END. Yippee. I have to say it's rather dangerous especially the shoe section I'm bidding on loads of stuff at the moment and hoping someone will outbid me.

The Purple People Eater

Hello there,

Hope you're all recovering from the festive season and those tins of beans and sausages with get you through to the next pay day!

As most of you know (those of you who know me) I have been a suicide blonde now for the last 7 or 8 years. Well no longer!!!!! I spent a few scary hours dyeing my hair (should not be allowed days off in the week where there is no one to supervise me!) I'm now a sort of dark purple!!! It's rather fun and takes me back to my younger days of brightly coloured hair and an obsession with Gary Numan, thankfully I grew out of that but not the silly hair colours. The problem now is that none of my clothes match the hair but I'm not buying new ones as I'll lose weight and it'll be a waste money (crossing fingers, eyes, lips etc....) There will be a picture on here as soon as Chris takes it.

So I'm going to have one of those weeks of shocked teenagers who can't believe you even bother after 25! So lots of why did you do that? you look weird etc. Actually they may have a point... Ok I'm looking forward to a double bill of Lost tonight where I'll end up even more confused than I am now.

Ours was going to be very quiet and we ended up at an anti party where we ate Indian food and watched Jools Holland. Very Mellow and a good laugh. I think when you stop searching for the perfect party it comes to you (or is that partner?)

So a very merry time was had by all.

I'm now pooped and will be glad of some time off very soon where I sleep and don't eat my body weight in chocolate.

The Dead Days

Hello there lovely people,

Well we are in the dead days the time were all normal life is on hold as we twiddle our thumbs and wait for the New Year. Some cultures consider this a spiritually open time where dark things are afoot. Well, I can neither confirm or deny this but it has been an unusual period of time. I reacon it's more to do with tiredness and putting things off for the New Year which leaves us waiting tiredly for the year to bring our new chances, opportunities and resolutions. Whatever happened to don't put off till tomorrow what you can do today? so lets keep waiting.....

However, I managed to blow a tire reversing out of the garage today!!! Very lucky I wasn't far from home. So I rang work and then got a very nice man to fix it. He could not get to me immediately so I was able to go back indoors and watch Hercules and have a nice cup of tea. Eventually, I was able to get to work nearly 3 hours later!!! but he was a very nice man.

Shopping... I have broken out of normal tradition of avoiding the sales due to deep fear of maurauding mobs. I popped through town with chums Dave and Adele and had a rather smashing time helping Del spend her money and buy a fab, faux fur, bomber jacket. After a few moments with Dave of... "but do you need it?" Del very sensibly resolved that yes she did HURRAH.

Day 2 met up with the fabulous Lurraine and bought another jacket and some fab ear rings. So the sales have been all about coats thus far. I put it down the cold weather. Have to say I'll be more than happy not to go back into town for another 12 months even though it is fun helping others shop.

So the dead days have not left me spooked but have certainly helped me lose a few pounds and a car tire.

Soapy Chrimbo

Dear all,

Hope you're surviving the Christmas hols. I know for most of you (referring to those of you I actually know) this is the maddest time of the year. This year I worked through christmas and boxing day which was ok but a bit dull as Tracy is rather keen on the soaps. So I got Cheery interludes of adultery, children down a well (no really!) memory losses, despair, heartbreak and a snowball fight. I left my shifts feeling tired and achey and a bit drained from living through all of lifes big emotions in one evening. Boxing day I was informed that we could watch the omnibus of soaps watched on Christmas day. Needless to say I cleaned rooms instead. May I point out that Tracy is one of the funniest people I know and this is not slight on her but on her truely terrible taste in TV. Love you Trace! However, I did get to see Dr Who.. WOW.. God love him. Highly entertaining loved every moment and I truely don't care how nerdy that sounds. Loved Harriet the Prime Minister even if she did kill the aliens at the end. smashing telly Thank you BBC.

Tis the season to be really sleepy... fa la la la laaa la la la laa

Hello all,

Sorry for the delay.... it's all been so hectic. I realise that most will be slowing down for Christmas although not convinced about that by the chaos that is Bournemouth and Poole! But, I shall be soldiering on and working through the festivities. Weirdly, quite looking forward to working as it means less cooking whilst being a host I don't feel I have to check everyones glass or feed them to bursting point. The plan is to stay in bed till 1pm then emerge for work at 2pm. I'm booking the TV for Dr Who with very stern looks for any young person who yaks through it. Having a bit of a problem being stern sure it will come with less sleep. Then it's home for 10pm were we open our Christmas pressies and drink mulled wine and nibble on fabulous snacks that my flatmate have prepared whilst I'm entertaining teenagers. Hint Hint.

The Christmas Party

Well this year no one disgraced themselves which is very disappointing. We went to a traditional english restaurant called Mrs T's in Westbourne where we had Adele's hen night. I can happily say it's as fabulous as it ever was. The idea is of a victorian parlour there's one sitting and countless courses. The food was amazing each course was explained and the main dishes were brought out for us to view and choose which we prefered. It was the best meal out I've had in years and highly recommend it to everyone.

Before we went Richard was packageing condoms to give out in Bournemouth tonight. He gave me lots to give out so everyone got an extra chrissy pressy. I have to say there was some trading going on. Well we did have a pregnant lady and some erm.... shall we say passed child bearing age.

Weirdly, no one blew them up although we got a little confused about the story of a condom fitting over a telephone box or a mini?? think that might be about people cramed into minis and telepone boxes.

So no one has to apologise about their behaviour at the staff meeting. How very disappointing

Today is a day off so I decided to drive out to Swanage which meant getting the ferry. I was quiet nervous but it all went rather well. I went to a rather fab shop called curiositys filled with loads of stuff reasonably priced a bit of a treasure trove. I wondered round and bought lots of bits and pieces then drove back. However, I didn't feel I'd been in the car for long enough and decided to have a go at the Wessex Way I ended up in Sopley of all places and was nearly tempted to pop into my old college. Although, last time, I was there no one recognized me. My ego was dented so decided it must have been the new hair do as I'm obviously hugely memorable!!!?

When I got back Chris and I had to hunt down the christmas decorations and had an entertaining half hour decorating the tree. So the flat is very christmassy.

Did I mention I can drive now?

Morning all,
I've had the weirdest couple of days. After passing my test I've slept very little and have been sorting through a haze of car related preperation. Now you'd think I'd have got straight into a car and driven off into the sunset! Well not so far I've rather stupidly left my 1989 ford fiesta in the garage to erm... festa. It's battery died! Chris and I spent time with a lovely neighbour tangled up in jump leads to no avail. So a nice man is popping round tonight to give it a new one. This is just putting off the inevitable of driving alone!!! I'm terrified I haven't figured out how to get reverse to work and it's got a choke!!! I know I'll get the hang of it in no time but it's all a bit scary. So one of the first things I did is join the AA!

Driving test

I think this is the right forum to tell the whole ruddy world I've passed my test today! Yes campers on my 7th attempt they finally passed me. I'm still in shock and I don't really believe it but I have to say I'm very pleased.

What can I say I'm blown away by the requests for more mail (all 2 of you!) Tim are you out there have you looked yet??? Sorry for not adding anything for a while but I've been a little under the weather just a cold nothing very exciting but I've no co ordination and I may be making less sense than normal! Chris and I both had a sickie yesterday I haven't been ill with anyone since me and my brother had measles together. I recomend it it's nice to have the company. Today we dragged ourselves to work which conveniently was a staff day in the hotel next door! We could even see our flat from the conference room window. Ok pickles love you all

Hello Bloggers,

Is this the face of a gullible woman? (the one in blue not the one in black or the one with the goatie) This morning I was sent a dream come true through the post. It's called slimtox and apparently if I pay £49.95 I'll lose 70lb in 75 days. If anyone has watched Peter Kays stand up it reminded me of the 14stone in a day routine.

They promise that I can eat anything I like and not exercise How very appealing. So all I need to do is send my cheque to the Netherlands and wait for the fat to drop off. I Googled them out of curiousity and discovered many vulnerable woman who had been ripped off by firms in the Netherlands.

I wish I could suss how to scan images onto this computer because their are 5 pictures of a woman over 5 weeks on these tablets. If you look carefully the photos have been very sloppily tampered with. I'm going to pin it on my fridge so I'm never tempted to buy a con.

I have to say I'm only blogging about this because I'm still supprised that it still goes on and that some of us when we are at our lowest will fall for any lie thats fed to us!

So it's back to trying to eat healthily and exercise.

Every home should have a Yoda! ok I wasn't going to write anything today since I've just come off a rather boysterous shift with rioting young people (Bless em!???). Thought I'd seek solice in a hot bubbly bath and a bottle of vino when I happened once again (via island monkey) to a weird link now I realise I've had very little sleep but, I can't figure out if this is for real or not. If it's a wind up which it's more likely to be then Fan bloody tastic. Well summed up on the lazy attitude to thousands of years of belief and dedication. My hat is raised to you. Well this week I popped up to Birmingham which was fun I wish I'd thought of taking lots of piccies but I didn't sorry. I went with my flatmate, Chris, and caught up with his parents then had a look around the Bull Ring which was still being built when I lived there. It's all very flash I managed to not spend any money (had none).

I've discovered a website where you can talk for free!!!! is called skype I know most of you have probably known about it for years but, I didn't and it's fab. So if you haven't tried it then log on and we can all chat.

Just off to a bonfire display but have no sparklers. I'm looking forward to all the junk food but in the deepest darkest south of England they don't do black peas!!! Which was about the only time when I was a child I ate anything near healthy.

Oh don't they always let you down. which, as a Lady with out offspring it's always a pleasure to watch children shaming their parents in public. Although, you've got to ask how this note got passed mum and Dad in the first place. Fantastic. Have too share Nicolas sentiment on the landing part pretty terrifying.

I've been looking at some other blogs of late can I recomend a chap called islandmonkey he puts together a really interesting one hopefully my link will work and you can all call round there he may ask you in and pop the kettle on. But don't stay too late.

Wet Weekend

Hello all,
Sorry for the long gap in my Blog. No loss to literature I'm sure. Well it's been a good weekend I saw my fab chum Malc and his lovely girlfriend Donna (looks a bit like Chrissie out of Eastenders without the murderous side) We reminnist a bit and tried to catch up over the last four years!! Some funny old stories came up (none I'm prepared to share on here!). They were off to do a dualathon on Sunday and the weather was really bad! Malc let me know how you both did.

On Sunday Chris and I went to Salisbury I was suppose to drive but it was wet and the boots I wanted to wear are impossible to drive in. We caught up with Chris's friend Holly and had lots of coffee.

Today Dave and Adele are flying out to New Zealand so all the best guys thinking of you both and miss you tons. I can't imagine what a huge upheaval it all is. Hang in there lovies xxxx

Hope you like the picture sometimes we all need to curl up under a protective erm..... ear?!?! I'm getting more and more desperate to get a dog so apologies now for all the dog realated stuff you'll come across on here.

I've been reading one of Chris's Dr Who books!! I've resisted now for about four months but I have to say I'm enjoying it! How weird.

Gay Pride

I realise this is very silly but it made me laugh out loud which is never a bad thing. I want to thank Caroline for letting me have her husband for the afternoon we had a lovely english lunch at the Hermitage with lank salad, stale bread and bendy crisps! Which we heartily enjoyed and will be back again as soon as we can.

I'm very excited because at the weekend I'm meeting up with my old college mate Malc. I've got fond memories of Malc all 6ft 12 of him skipping through the dorm corridoor singing "I'm so pretty, I'm so pretty and witty and gay" not to mention the sudden outbursts of Irish dancing. Have too say Malc you got me through a very weird college experience (all 3 years).

I'm doing an allnighter tonight we oddly call it a sleepover except theres no midnight feast! All rather disapointing really.

Sooo Tired

Dear all,

As you can see I'm as spritely as ever after my relaxing weekend of work and birthdays. (actually this was taken in Paris when I had chicken pox ) But, right now I'm empathising erm... with myself?

Ok, well, Chris's birthday went well we had lots of lovely people Tim, Caz, Sylvia, Sarah H, Kev, Fee, Chris P, Amanda and the lovely Clive. We ate our body weight in pizza and curry and didn't play poker! lots of fun. Even when Kev made a derogatory comment about a lovely CD Tim bought and very amusingly and quite scarily used a rude word in front of Sylvia (Cazs mum) I felt 15 again luckily we didn't get "a good telling off" which we probably deserved.

It was nice to relive some stories of the past such as Caz (aged 16) wearing a tin foil hat, red tights and a leotard whilst dancing to "War of the Worlds" at the Albert Hall with the Girls Brigade. Its a good story but, I'm afraid there was no re enactment.

The other rather alarming story was from Chris P. about what one gets up to in a stag weekend in Prague. All I'll say is Mark you may have lots of questions about where you ate and who on I mean with.

I'm about to have my hair cut (and yes go for a swim) although it's a bit wet out there I never really fancy swimming when it's raining I may go rusty!

Ok any of you half term slackers (teachers) and self employeds free wednesday I'm off so need coffee at Russel Coates.

Friday Blues

Morning smashers,

Well most of you get monday morning blues but us in the land of silly shifts can get friday afternoon blues to signal back to work for the weekend!

Though I just hate doing weekends I'm rather blessed cos I love what I do (working with young people) it's a bit of a privilege really.

Yet again I'm supposed to be swimming but there's an aqua class on with lots of very dignified older ladies who miraculously NEVER wet their hair or smudge their make up. I feel I let the side down if I join in by splashing everyone and half drowning..... they are patient and long suffering but I think they are happier if I let them gracefully fight the water without me.

Just have to say I had a fab lunch on wednesday with the lovely Linda Kneale we dined out at a hotel (bar snacks) can I just say she's such a star and a huge inspiration there are very few Linda's out there which is a shame because everyone needs a Linda to remind us how to take life on the chin and keep fighting through. Also, how too party you must ask her about what she gets up too on a night out 'nuff said.

I have too admit the image has nothing to do with anything I write I just thought it was funny. I'm a bit of a LOTR's fan. There's a website I got this through it has some fabulously silly foto's the lovely Adele sent to me. It's howstrange.com well worth a peek when you should be working.

I should be swimming right now but I have to go and buy my flatmate, Chris, a birthday pressie. We've planned a poker night but we have to play like girls for counters rather than money! This is because Fee will be there and if memory serves she's "a bit good" at cards!! So we need to keep some rent money once Chris is trained up I'm sure we can play for matchsticks.

Hi there

Not sure my life warrants a Blog but, thought it might be fun.

I'm english and work with young people (in england). I live by the sea and have two fabulous flatmates Chris and Richard. One I actually work for.

I have some fabulous friends whom I love too bits and who have kept me sane over the years. I have a dislike of Gyms and a love of chocolate. I have spent most of my adult life trying to find a way to eat chocolate and remain slim. So far no good, however, my search of the chocolate diet is not over. Please let me know if you have found a way round this.

I'm 37 years old and have explored england a little by living in Lancashire, Somerset, Midlands and now Dorset. I've not yet lived abroad but, I'm not dead yet so anything could happen. I enjoy my life but I'm nothing special, pretty ordinary, like most people but heigh everyone has a dangerous side....... just need to find mine. Laura xx
